Layla isn't pure German Shepherd. She is smaller and has some Husky in her genes.
She was three years old when we found her, rescued her from a life of misery, and still, after 7 years, we cannot tickle her with our toes. She prefers to sleep outside until the nights get too cold for us to leave the door open and after that likes to sleep in, or just outside, the shower in the bath room. We put a make-shift bed down there for her which has become permanent as she has refused to sleep in her proper bed since Dobby came to live with us.
She is a real 'Houdini' and as soon as we get inside the kennels she races around the boundaries looking for a way out. This summer has seen her sleeping more and not wanting to play with Dobby as much as he would like. She loves rolling on the grass downstairs in the garden and digging huge holes in the flower beds, having her tummy tickled and her food. Food always comes first though.
